AQPSM research highlighted in Becker’s, OR Manager, and local consumer media
In July, Becker’s and OR Manager covered research presented at the Anesthesia Quality and Patient Safety Meeting (AQPSM) on an innovative, anesthesiologist-led infection prevention program that led to a 50% decrease in infections and $540,000 in cost savings. Additionally, coverage of a study that found starting epidural anesthesia in the OR instead of the recovery room can speed up pain relief for patients and research on using a manometer to reduce over-inflation of breathing tubes to prevent complications such as sore throat was featured on HealthDay, which was picked up by hundreds of local newspapers. Overall, coverage of research from the meeting appeared in 309 online news outlets, reaching an audience of over 85 million.
