Here are three programs that are expanding educational pathways to the anesthesia workforce in 2026, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University is launching a nurse anesthesia program in Center Valley, Pa. The onsite, DNP-Nurse Anesthesia program will be offered at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Center for Healthcare Education.
2. The University of Toledo (Ohio) Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new nurse anesthesia track to its doctor of nursing program.
3. Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare and New Castle, Del.-based Wilmington University launched the state’s first certified registered nurse anesthetist program. The full-time, 36-month program, which was announced in October 2024, enrolled its first cohort in January.
