This retrospective review analyzed 4,811 patients undergoing distal radius fracture surgery between 2019 and 2024 to assess perioperative implications of GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) use. GLP-1 RA prevalence rose from 0.5% in 2019 to 2.9% in 2024, with semaglutide being the most common agent. Among the 46 GLP-1 RA users, only one patient (2.2%) experienced postoperative nausea, and no cases of aspiration or serious complications were observed. Although the complication rate was low, underreporting in outpatient settings is a consideration. The study underscores the need for vigilant perioperative planning and adherence to evolving guidelines as GLP-1 RA use expands.
